We did it!  We've reached our goal to fully fund the purchase and installation of two record boards to celebrate the history of Monmouth Swimming!

Thank you to everyone who made a gift!  Every dollar made this possible!  A special thank you goes to our alumni from both generations of Monmouth Swimming who contributed!  Also, a big thank you goes to many past, current and future parents of our program who made an impact! Finally, we had support from University staff, Blue/White club members and friends of our program!  Each donor to this project was a difference maker!

We will be moving quickly to finish the design and then purchase the record boards!  We will post photos here to show our progress.

One other item:  we've done extensive research to determine the program records for the first generation of the program as there was no information readily available when we restarted the program.   We've made significant progress primarily through accessing old newspapers online, but still have some gaps to fill.  If any alumni have anything saved that can help us pinpoint these records, please contact Ken Taylor at 732-263-5474.

Again thank you to all of our supporters and we look forward to making the project a reality in the very near future!

One Day left in our campaign!

April 29, 2019

Thank you to everyone who has supported our record board project and a special thanks to our alumni and parents--past, current and future-- who have donated! We are getting close to our goal, less than $2,000 to go!  Remember, gifts of all amounts make a difference!

The record board will honor the history of Monmouth swimming, and provides our current student-athletes a visual showing the benchmarks of our program.  Our goal is to complete our fundraising by May 1!  As soon as we hit our goal, we can finalize the process to install the board and have it ready for the 2019-2020 season!

Let's finish strong!

Monmouth Swimming Record Board

January 11, 2019

Monmouth swimming has a rich and storied history from its success in the 1960s, 70s and early 80s to the restart of the program in 2015.   This history includes an Olympic Gold Medalist, 11 individual NCAA national champions, numerous All-Americans and many other outstanding accolades.

One constant througout the history of the program is the Richard E. Steadman Natatorium. It has served as the home of the Hawks since 1965.  To honor the elite performances by some of the many outstanding swimmers who represented the University, Monmouth athletics is currently raising funds to install a school record board in Steadman Natatorium.  The board will serve as a tribute to the best athletes in program history both past and present while also providing our current student athletes with benchmarks of excellence they can strive for in each event.  Each standard event will be listed and the Monmouth University program record will be displayed on a state-of the-art board.

Gifts of all levels make an impact and cast a vote of confidence in our students and coaches. Whether you can give at the Shadow level, the hall of fame level or any amount in between, it will bring us closer to our project goal of $10,000.  To date, we have raised over $3,000 of from alumni and supporters. All gifts are eligibile for a tax deduction. (For more information, please consult a tax professional.  If you have questions about this campaign, please contact Ken Taylor, Associate Director of Athletics at 732-263-5474.
