Although Monmouth Men's Soccer had its Fall 2020 season postponed, the absence of competition did not change our commitment to the health and safety of our student athletes. We continue to support them in their academic efforts, and in their closely supervised training done in strict compliance with health and safety protocols set forth by the NCAA as well as local, state, and federal government officials.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant economic and budgetary challenges to all of collegiate athletics. We are incurring new expenses implementing new health and safety protocols while important revenue streams that support all 23 Monmouth Athletics programs including ticket sales, sponsorships, and disbursements from the NCAA have disappeared. At the same time, the day-to-day expenses of operating a successful men's soccer program haven't changed.
We're hoping you can support us today! Our annual golf outing held each May was cancelled due to COVID-19. Funds raised each year at the outing help cover expenses such as uniforms, equipment, apparel and other needs.
A gift of any amount to the Blue/White Club designated to the Men's Soccer Enhancement Fund can assist us in closing the gap from our golf outing cancellation. 100% of your gift is allocated to the men's soccer program and makes a difference.
In recent months we have made significant progress in developing new standards to operate our programs as safely as possible so long as conditions allow. We are anxious to fulfill our goal of winning the MAAC Championship!
