Although there is uncertaintly with regard to when Monmouth Swimming will begin competition this year, the University's commitment to the health and safety of our student athletes does not change. We continue to support them in their academic efforts, and in their closely supervised training done in strict compliance with health and safety protocols set forth by the NCAA as well as local, state, and federal government officials.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant economic and budgetary challenges to all of collegiate athletics. We are incurring new expenses implementing new health and safety protocols while important revenue streams that support all 23 Monmouth Athletics programs including ticket sales, sponsorships, and disbursements from the NCAA have disappeared. At the same time, the day-to-day expenses of operating a successful women's swimming program haven't changed and we're hoping you can support us today!
A gift of any amount to the Blue/White Club designated to the Women's Swimming Enhancement Fund makes a difference. 100% of your gift is allocated to the women's swimming program.
A few examples of consistent expenses the program incurs are:
- $50 for two dozen post-workout nutrition shakes
- $100 for one training swimsuit
- $250 for one competition swimsuit
In recent months we have made significant progress in developing new standards to operate our programs as safely as possible so long as conditions allow. We are anxious to fulfill our goal of winning the MAAC Championship!
As soon as we can compete again, WE WILL BE READY!
