Please help support the Monmouth University Wrestling Club!
In 2018, some local wrestlers and coaches along with Monmouth University’s Student Organizations worked together to start a wrestling club. The club was off to a great start with a solid group of wrestlers before shutting down due to the pandemic, but the team picked back up last season and is once again going strong. Coached by NCAA all American Nick Roy, along with a prestigious volunteer coaching staff which includes Rich Famularo, Jake Benner and Mike Verrochi and training out of the legendary Triumph wrestling facility. This year our returning member, John Dooley, will be leading the club as the new President along with Frank Talarico as Vice President. We have a large group of new sign ups, and are very excited to be back on the mat this fall. The goals of our club remain the same - getting in great shape, learning the sport of wrestling, competing in individual and team tournaments.
How will your gift make an impact?
Thanks to our supporters, we've had very successful fundraisers the last two years and the team was able to purchase an impressive new mat with the Monmouth University logo, along with apparel for the team. We were also able to pay the membership fee to join the NCWA league. We have more goals this year to continue building a strong local club. Your support is essential since the club has no other means of funding. Your donation will assist our wrestlers now, and in the future, by helping to purchase wrestling apparel, covering the cost of NCWA membership and tournament fees, and helping offset travel expenses during the season.
A contribution of any amount would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for supporting the Monmouth University Wrestling Club!
About Club Sports at Monmouth University:
The Club Sports Program at Monmouth University provides opportunities for students who desire a more in-depth experience of sports participation than is provided in the Intramural or informal Recreation Program. The goal of the Club Sports Program is to blend the aspects of learning new skills, practicing with club members, and possibly competing with other clubs and universities.
